Error code LR40 in Anno 1800

Error code LR40 usually means that the player hosting the multiplayer session and other players are no longer in sync with each other.

This issue can have a number of different causes:

Connectivity issues
These could be caused by any player in the multiplayer session. Please make sure that every player has completed our connectivity troubleshooting guide to exclude this as a possible cause.

Background applications
Some software may interfere with Anno 1800 while it is running. We would suggest disabling any software that is not needed while you play the game.

Difference in game data
If the host of the game and the players are exchanging data that is not compatible, desync issues can occur when the game is dependent on working with the sent data.

Make sure that your game is up-to-date to avoid version conflicts. The best way to do this is to verify your game files with Ubisoft Connect PC or Steam.

Disable any kind of mods or trainers that may influence the game. They are not officially supported and may lead to unexpected behaviour.

Gameplay problems
The development team is working hard on preventing bugs from happening in the first place, but sometimes unexpected issues can arise even after testing the game thoroughly.

To be able to fix these kinds of issues that could lead to desynchronisation, the development team needs to reproduce the issue first in order to be able to fix it. You can help them investigate them by:

• Providing us with the affected save game by attaching it to your case.
Attaching the log files of the Desync folder to your case. They can be found by default under this path:

C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Anno 1800\

• Describing in your case what you did in game before the issue appeared. Maybe another player declared war or they completed a quest for an NPC. Please try to be as detailed as possible in your description.
