However, in some cases, it is possible to transfer ownership between PC accounts - this is because the activation is linked to Ubisoft accounts.

Please note that we can only transfer games. We cannot transfer rewards, challenges, achievements, loot, in-game content or progress.
It is also important to note that we have no control over external account activity.
This means that we cannot make changes to your PlayStation or Xbox accounts, including transferring games or content between those console accounts.
