Do I need to have the CD in the drive to play Chessmaster 9000?

QUESTION:

Why does Chessmaster 9000 keep telling me I need the CD when I try to run it. I did a full install!

ANSWER:

Chessmaster 9000 uses a form of copy protection known as "CD Refresh". Approximately every two weeks or every two dozen sessions (whichever comes first), the program will ask you to put in a Chessmaster 9000 CD for verification purposes. Additionally, you may at times be notified that you will need a CD the next time you run the program, so you can have it handy.
