Error: Could Not Initialize Direct3D


Whenever I try to start the game, I get and error message "Could Not Initialize Direct3D." What is causing this error?


Please make sure that your PC meets the minimum requirements for this game. to see the CSI: Three Dimensions of Murder minimum requirements.

To find out what hardware you have on your PC, open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool:
1. From Windows, click Start->Run
2. In the Open: box, Type DXDIAG and click OK

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will display all of the relevant hardware and software on your PC.

The most common cause for this problem is NOT meeting the video requirements.

CSI: Three Dimensions of Murder requires a 32 MB (64MB recommended) Direct X 9.0c compliant video card (supported chipsets below)

Supported video cards:

ATI Radeon 7200/8500/9000/X series
NVIDIA GeForce 3/4/FX/6 series
NVIDIA Quadro 2/4 series

**Non T&L Cards Supported WITH 2 GHz or Faster Processor:

ATI Radeon 7000
NVIDIA GeForce 2/4 MX

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported.

If you have one of the supported video cards for this game and are still having trouble, please make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your video card from the manufacturers website.
