Ubisoft Account Unlinking

Over time, you may decide to unlink one of your external accounts from your Ubisoft account, which will break the link between the two accounts. Note that you will still be able to retrieve your data if you relink your account in the future. 

It’s important to review the information we’ve provided about cross-play and cross-progression to be fully aware of the conditions associated with unlinking of an external account before moving forward with this action.

How to Review the External Accounts Linked to Your Ubisoft Account
To view the external accounts linked to your Ubisoft account:
1. Navigate to the Account Management website, and log in to your Ubisoft account.
2. Click on the Account Information tile.
3. Navigate to the Linked accounts section.

Below, you'll find an example of what your linked external accounts will look like on the Account Management site. Based on the image, you can see that a PlayStation Network ID, Xbox Gamertag, Google Account, and Steam account have been linked to this Ubisoft account.

Explanation of the Reference Account
The reference account is the console account (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Switch, Stadia) that is linked to your Ubisoft account. Once your console account has been linked to your Ubisoft account, only that console account can be re-linked. No other console account can be later associated with the original Ubisoft account. 

The reference account was introduced to guarantee a safe cross-play and cross-progression experience. When linking or unlinking an account, a warning message may appear to indicate what your reference account is.

How to Unlink An Account From Your Ubisoft Account
To unlink an external account for a console or another service (like Twitch, Facebook, or Amazon for example) from your Ubisoft account, you can follow the instructions we have provided below. 

Please note that upon unlinking a Twitch account specifically, Twitch Drops will also be deleted at the Ubisoft account level. 

1. Navigate to the Account Management website, and log in to your Ubisoft account.
2. Click on the Account Information tile.
3. Navigate to the Linked accounts section.
4. Click on the Unlink button under the logo for the external account that you want to unlink.
5. A window will appear, informing you of the consequences of unlinking the external account. Check the checkbox for "I have read the above information and want to unlink my accounts." if you want to continue.
6. Click on the Unlink button.

Your external account should now be unlinked from your Ubisoft account. To confirm that this action has been successfully completed:

1. Navigate to the Account Management website, and log in to your Ubisoft account.
2. Click on the Account Information tile.
3. Navigate to the Linked accounts section.

Under the Linked Accounts section, you should see that the unlinked account has been removed from the list. 


How to Unlink Your Steam Account
It’s important to note that after the link between your Steam account and your Ubisoft account is made, that the Steam account associated with the Steam titles on your Ubisoft account must remain linked. If this link is ever altered or broken, you will begin receiving authentication errors when you launch your Ubisoft games from Steam.


How to Unlink Wii U
If you unlink your Wii U account from your Ubisoft account, you will not be able to link it back later. Please reference our dedicated FAQ on this topic for additional information. To continue with unlinking the Wii U platform from your Ubisoft account, contact our customer support team for assistance. Please include your Nintendo Network ID in the case details upon creation.
