Connectivity issues in For Honor on Xbox One


What can I do when I experience issues with the online features of For Honor on Xbox One?


If you experience lag, disconnections or other problems with the game's connectivity, there are a few steps you can try. We recommend that you try them in the order they are listed below.

Before starting the connectivity troubleshooting, please check our official Network Service Status website for For Honor. Here you can see if your issues are being caused by maintenance, degradation or an outage.

If servers are up, but you are still having trouble connecting, the issue may be your internet connection. There are several factors that affect connection quality in our games. These play a huge role in how you experience the game. If you are connected via WiFi, you can maximise your gaming experience by connecting via an Ethernet cable instead.

Here is the list of steps you can try: 

Start by testing your network connection. If the test shows that your connection is limited, try the following troubleshooting steps.
A power cycle will help to fix various common issues without erasing any of your games or data.
This will allow your network hardware to re-establish a fresh connection to your ISP. 

3. Enable UPnP
UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) can be toggled on or off in your router settings. Because there are a number of different router models available, we can't provide specific instructions on how to do this. We recommend checking the router's manual or contacting your Internet Service Provider for guidance. 
This will allow the communication from the game server to be channelled directly to the console and vice versa. 

These are the ports you need for For Honor:
TCP: 443, 80
UDP: 1000, 1001, 6200, 6300
A DMZ will prevent your router from blocking any internet traffic to your console.
Check for other factors that may limit your ability to connect.
