ВОПРОС:

In Chessmaster 10th Edition, how can i add my own avatar so when i play my game the image next to my character is a digital image of me.

ОТВЕТ:

To be able to use your own image as the avatar in Chessmaster 10th edition, you need to prepare the image file first. This needs to be a 'bmp' file with the following

attributes :

Width = 76 pixels
Height = 97 pixels
Bit depth = 24bit.

You would need to use a photo editing package to do this and save this file into the following folder :

"Chessmaster 10th Edition\Data\Avatars".

Please note three things. The name of the file you created would be the name needed in the game. So John.bmp would be John inside the game.
Also you will need to have the latest patch installed for the game. This can be downloaded from the following website :

http://patches.ubi.com/chessmaster_10th_edition

Once you have the patch installed, you need to go back to the Avatar folder and find the file called avatar.ini
Opening this file with notepad should show a list of the available avatars.

You need to scroll to the bottom of this and add a new line. For example by default near the bottom it looks like :

33=Oliver
34=Carl

You would need to add 35=Name, where name is the name of the bmp file you have.
So following the example of John.bmp you would need to add the following :

35=John

Save the file and reload the game to allow you to use your new custom avatar.
