In detail, this means that any progress related to the world of Far Cry 5 is not shared. Only the hosting player will receive and retain progress for:
- discovered locations
- unlocked doors
- Prepper Stashes found
- Resistance Points
More items will become available in in-game shops once the resistance grows stronger, which is represented by Resistance Points in the game. Joining players will not receive Resistance Points; this means that item unlocks based on Resistance Points will not carry over to the joining players' own game after the co-op session.
However, any personal progress joining players make during co-op sessions will be retained once they return to their own game. This includes:
- Challenge Progression
- Perks Unlocked
- In-game money (from looting NPCs, exploring the world and completing missions)
- Inventory Items (except Keys)
- Weapons/Attachments/Skins/Vehicles/Clothes purchased during the co-op session (with the exception of weapons with availability based on Resistance Points)
- Silvers Bars purchased during the co-op session
Another thing to keep in mind is that only the Host can interact with NPCs to start missions or hire Guns for Hire.
